Well. Hello Again.

Spring came to the cul-de-sac the way it always does…loud and unbothered, pollen on every surface, the grandkids back on their bikes, the occasional rap (or mariachi) music drifting up from two blocks over like a blessing nobody asked for.

And here I am, in the middle of all of it. As per usual.

There is a way of reading Scripture that is technically correct, and yet strangely sterile.

Everything seems in place. The grammar is parsed. The historical setting is noted. Doctrine is preserved. And still, something essential is missing.

It isn't wrong, it’s just… thin.

I can’t believe it.

I wrote two whole books in 2024 and 2025, and I never said a word, here on the blog.

I recently read an Instagram post - written by a former pastor who is someone I don’t know.

Still, the criticism levied against “the church” is one I do know. The criticism is one that I have heard so. many. times. in my 30+ year tenure of ministry. The criticism goes as follows:

Someone leaves their church, or they step out of a role they played in that church, after years of being a part of it. Afterwards…
