Original Painting, "August, Forever Mine"
24x48” oil on board, this painting is perfectly accented by a frame hand-crafted by my husband, “The Preacher”, and gold-leafed by me.
We have a favorite place near our home, a city park, and we nicknamed it “Mimi’s Meadow”. We jokingly call it “our land”. Because, in a way, it is our land!
We walk “our land” almost every morning, and have done so for a couple of years now - long enough to get to know the meadow’s every nuance, and how it looks and feels in every season. In spite of the heat and oppressive southern humidity, August is by far my favorite time of year to walk our land.
Parts of Mimi’s Meadow are completely magical, teeming with passionflower, morning glory, Queen Anne’s lace, blackberries and baby bunnies.
