Original Abstract: “Small Homage to Robert Frost's 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' ”
This is the smaller, square version of its bigger, older sister “Nothing Gold Can Stay”. Inspired by the poetry of Robert Frost, and his work by the same title, this piece speaks volumes to me. While it’s true that “Eden sank to grief” (oh please do go read the poem, or click over to my blog to read it there) all in life that is most dear to me, I can never really lose. It will always be mine. At the same time, I am deeply encouraged to “love what is mine” knowing that Nothing Gold Can Stay. I will never have what and who I love in quite this way, on this day, ever again. Everything changes. The poem is bittersweet and so is this original art.
24x24” original on mdf board, rendered in acrylics, inks, oils, and real gold leaf. This piece was lovingly custom framed by my husband in his workshop in a float frame and will arrive on your doorstep beautifully packaged (as though it were a treasured gift to a friend) and ready to hang. Can I also say? It smells faintly of wood and oil paints and its heavenly. No picture can do justice to it. There are too many surprises tucked around.
This is a piece of art that looks and presents differently in every time of day, and in various forms of lighting. It has moods. I love that, too. *Shipping charges vary. You will be invoiced separately for shipping. This is a gorgeous, somewhat heavy piece. Therefore, expect that charge to be $100 or so, to have this piece delivered to your front door, fully insured and with no packing detail overlooked.
