In the process of painting and sketching, this woman and I journeyed our way from strangers, to becoming near-enemies, to her being one of the dearest things to me I have ever put on paper. She has the usual hints of metallic gold, and hints of “arbitrary color” (meaning: there are strokes of royal blue on her skin and in her hair.).

Her marks are exquisite.
