This is a print of an original now owned by chef, author, and TV personality Danielle Kartes, author of the fabulous cookbook “Rustic Joyful Food”. It is based on the passage in scripture where Jesus exhorts us to “consider the lilies”.
They truly are “rustic and joyful flowers”. The Lord provides for them!
The original was rendered in mixed media: acrylics, oil pastel, soft pastel, using lush mixes of color and painting very loose and free - even the act of painting this felt rustic and joyful. I think it shows in the beauty of this painting. I took great care to make sure the print is almost as lovely as Danielle’s original.
